Growing Up a Farmer's Daughter

When I signed up to take the Maturing and aging course, I never realized how much I would learn about myself. For this assignment, we had to interview an older adult to learn more about the time they grew up in and learn more about them. We had to conduct the actual interview while home during Spring Break.

I chose my Nanny for this project, as she is one of my biggest role models. She is kind, caring, and selfless, and loves clothes and shoes--as do I! I learned so much about my Nanny during this interview that I did not know prior to this assignment. This assignment also helped prepare me for what the next semester would bring; interviewing older adults in nursing school to compose care plans and cultural assessments.

This assignment fits in the Making Connection SCI Learning Objective because I connected knowledge that I had from my field of study to my own life and personal connections. In my reflection, I also described what I learned about myself as well as my Nanny during this assignment.
