Nothing worth having comes easy, ever.

Level One Photos
Looking back, levels one and two were easy and meant to prepare us for three and four. Level three was my hardest level, and I would never wish to repeat it or wish it on my worst enemy. During all of the times of little to no sleep, thirty page care plans, and early clinical mornings, though, I did have the support of my faculty and clinical group. The clinical group that we established in level one has remained friends with one another and we still have a group chat. Though not all have progressed, and some have changed careers, the nursing students that I will graduate with in May make me proud to be a Radford Graduate.

I have currently accepted a position at the University of North Carolina's Heart and Vascular Hospital at REX Hospital on the Cardiothoracic Intensive Care Unit. I am very excited for this opportunity and hope that it serves as a career path to my career goal of being a certified registered nurse-anesthetist (CRNA).
Nursing school is hands down the hardest thing I have ever decided to do in my life. I have slept less and stressed more during these two short years than I think I have in my entire twenty-two years of being on this earth. I have pushed myself harder during these past two years than I ever have before as well. Nursing is not for the faint of heart, and I quickly learned this. Radford's Nursing strives to produce baccalaureate prepared students who are ready to enter the workforce, which is one of the reasons that I chose to attend nursing school at Radford. I have challenged that decision several times, but if you are not challenging why you are doing something and finding that drive every time, are you really doing something you love? I know I do not know it all, and I know that I will never know it all, but I do know that I love nursing. I have found my passion.
